Documentation
Setup notes and connection steps for each part of aerOne FD Pro. Use the documentation supplied with your version for installation and activation.
First flight
- Start the simulator and load a flightaerOne connects to Microsoft Flight Simulator on the same PC through SimConnect. The status chip in the top bar shows Connected once data arrives.
- Accept the agreementsOn first start aerOne shows its end user agreement. PMDG SDK agreements are shown separately the first time you use a PMDG connection.
- Let aerOne recognise the aircraftSupported aircraft are selected automatically from the loaded aircraft. You can change it manually with Change aircraft; a manual choice is not overridden.
- Add your SimBrief IDEnter your SimBrief username or Pilot ID in Settings or on the Briefing page to load your latest plan.
- Use the function keysF1 Flight, F2 Panel, F3 Cockpit, F4 Plan, F5 Ground, F6 Experience. Any page can open in a separate window.
Overhead panels
Open Panel → Overhead and choose Real panel, Simple panel or IRS. Use Fit to see the whole panel and Touch to zoom; drag empty panel space to pan. Guarded switches need the guard lifted first, as in the aircraft.
- Indicators show the state read from the simulator. If the simulator is offline, switches are disabled.
- For a dedicated touchscreen, open the panel in a separate window and choose the display. Vertical and horizontal layouts are available.
- Enable Keep MSFS focused when using touch if touches should not take focus away from the simulator.
Checklist
Open Cockpit → Checklist. Choose Interactive to work item by item. With Verify from live aircraft data on, green ticks are confirmed by the simulator and blue ticks are your own manual checks. If an item cannot be confirmed within 8 seconds, check the cockpit and try again.
CDU / MCDU
- PMDG 737 / 777: open SDK license, read and accept the PMDG SDK agreement. In the aircraft’s options file, the [SDK] section needs
EnableDataBroadcast=1andEnableCDUBroadcast.0=1(and.1=1for the right CDU). - iFly 737 MAX: uses the iFly SDK. The aircraft must be loaded and powered.
- Fenix A320: the Fenix aircraft and its EFB service must be running (default local port 8083). Choose MCDU inside the Fenix EFB view.
- FlyByWire A32NX: start SimBridge (default port 8380). A different port can be set on the desktop.
Keyboard: A–Z and 0–9 type into the scratchpad, F1–F6 are the left line select keys, F7–F12 the right, Backspace is CLR, Delete is DEL, Space is SP, Page Up / Page Down change pages. Enter never triggers EXEC.
PFD / ND · EFB
- In MSFS, pop out the display you want (right Alt + left click on displays that support it). Keep it open and not minimised.
- In aerOne open Cockpit → PFD / ND · EFB, press Refresh list and pick the window, then Capture to this display.
- Tick Touch to forward taps to that display. Layouts are saved per aircraft.
The EFB tab opens the PMDG tablet directly, or the Fenix (port 8083) and iFly (port 8084) remote EFB services.
Briefing & live map
Dispatch your flight on SimBrief first, then press Fetch OFP. If the account is found but no plan is active, create one in SimBrief Dispatch and fetch again. The live map uses OpenStreetMap tiles and public weather data. Real-weather turbulence asks for permission before downloading weather data.
Ground services & pushback
- GSX: GSX must be running with Remote control server enabled in its settings (default port 8744).
- MSFS native: services arrive according to the airport, stand and aircraft configuration. De-icing uses GSX; MSFS has no native de-icing request.
- Pushback planner: tap a target on the map and drag its ring to set the nose heading, or choose Straight, Left, Right or Auto tail left / right. The aircraft must be stopped on the ground with the parking brake handled as prompted.
- Tug console: hold to drive, release to stop. Keyboard: ↑ / ↓ drive, ← / → steer, Space stops, Shift selects forward and Ctrl reverse. Training mode drives a local model without sending commands to the simulator.
ImmerseMotion
Press Start camera effects, choose Calm, Balanced or Lively and adjust intensities. In MSFS, enable the add-on camera in the camera panel and select the cockpit view. Effects pause automatically when the simulator is paused, in slew or outside the cockpit.
Right mouse looks around, right mouse + wheel zooms, Shift + W/A/S/D and Q/E move the eyepoint. The 3-axis camera is experimental and requires MSFS 2024.
OrbiCam
Press Start OrbiCam camera, then select a view. Use Capture current view to store the current eyepoint, Shift + number cameras to assign Shift + 1–9, and Joystick controls to move the camera with a controller. Views are saved per aircraft; starting angles may need adjusting for each model. Stop OrbiCam restores the simulator view.
Replay Manager
While connected, aerOne keeps the last two minutes of flight. After landing, park clear of the runway, stop and set the parking brake, then choose Replay in MSFS. Replay requires MSFS 2024 and an aircraft model that supports AI spawning. Custom cockpit systems, traffic and weather are not recorded.
Companion
See Phone & tablet companion for pairing. If the address stops working after a network change, press Start / Apply again and open the new address.
Data & privacy in the app
aerOne connects locally to the simulator. Requesting a SimBrief plan sends your username or Pilot ID to SimBrief; map data requests send an approximate map area to OpenStreetMap; weather and network layers download public data. Preferences, logs and your agreement acceptance are stored on your PC. See the end user license agreement.
